Is it the Same Steve Jobs ? Apple conspiracy ? Who knows. But he sure has changed a lot since last year.

Some new rumors have surfaced today on the expected new iPhone. According to Mac Rumors and Engadget, the new iPhone will have some of these new features:
A Glossy Black Back. No more scratches
A GPS
3G Network
Slightly thicker, not much.
Headset jack will be flush
Expect to have the new OS which will include Exchange Active Sync and 3rd party applications
So, if your looking to buy a new iPhone, I would wait at least until June.
There is some speculation of new products we might see at Macworld ’08. It’s difficult to pin it down. Apple came out with a handful of new products last year, including Leopard, the iPhone, the Apple TV, a new line of iPods, new line of iMac’s and a new line of Mac Pro’s (last week). So what else could Apple possibly introduce ?
My assumption is that there will be some discussion of a 3G iPhone, possibly show off a prototype. Steve Jobs may introduce Blue Ray drives in a new ultra thin Mac Book line which may have built in flash memory for the operating system. We will probably see the intro of iTunes movie rentals. There may be a new Apple TV coming out that have a TV Tuner and the ability to rent movies through iTunes directly from the user menu. And finally, we may see a new line of Apple Cinema Displays that might tie into the whole Apple TV deal. We may also see a new Mac Mini or it will be discontinued entirely.
I would also suspect Apple will announce a new firmware for the iPhone which will include 3rd Party Application support, cut/ paste and customizable screen icons settings. Off course would require an iTunes update for the 3rd party application support.
Steve may mention the new Mac Pro’s just released. We may also see some more gaming support in Leopard, which will be followed up by some CEO’s coming out on stage.
I don’t think we will see a new 3G iPhone next week, but something to expect in the future, possibly Spring or early Summer.
I recently bought a Mac Pro in December. It’s a sick machine. By far it has exceeded my expectations in performance. Last Monday, Apple announced a whole new line of Mac Pro’s, of course. I decided to call Apple Customer Support and explain to them that I had just bought this computer a couple of weeks ago and….he interrupted me and said that not to worry, that Apple has price protection and he gave me a $522.00 refund. But what really impressed me was when I told him that the Mac came with the old style white keyboard, and I would have expected the new Aluminum keyboard, with out any questions, he sent me a new one, at no cost and told me to just keep the other one. The new keyboard came to the house the next morning.
This morning I went into the Apple store to swap out a Mighty Mouse, again, no questions, they did it.
My best friend, Ryan, had an issue with his video iPod. With 12 days left on his Apple Care, he took it in and they swapped it out with a new one. Although he was expecting to walk out the store with a new iPhone and her phone number, neither of which happened, nonetheless he was still very satisfied.
Apple has excellent customer service and each time that I have reached out to them for support, they have always impressed me.
I have not had much of an opportunity to work with Apple when it comes with software or operating system level issues, partly because I can resolve them on my own. However, anytime I needed hardware support they have been excellent to work with. It just proves to me that Apple stands behind their product, and it shows.
Four days until the biggest event of the year for all man kind, MacWorld 2008. We once again will hear from Steve Jobs, see some new sick products from Apple and hopefully be rejuvenated.
There are some rumors of a new tablet Macbook, possibly a new Apple TV that will have more features, an ultra thin MacBook and new line of Apple Cinema Displays which rumor has it will be larger and one for the living room.
A lot of people have asked me about the “New” iPhone. Who knows when this will be announced. According to MacWorld, we should not expect the new iPhone which is supposed to have 3G support to be announced at MacWorld. I would expect that to happen after June of this year, a year after its first release. You can’t blame them for this. They already had to shell out credits once, I don’t think they want to do this again.
Steve Jobs will be presenting on the 15th from 9:00 am to 10:30 am (PST). You can watch the live coverage here. You can also receive SMS messages to your phone. Shortly after, you will be able to view the full Keynote on Apple’s website.
Apple announced the new Macintosh 128K! This is an amazing video of Steve Jobs. He had the vision years ago. He knew what the industry needed and developed upon it, then delivered exceptional products. I am certain that Steve Jobs will go down in the history books as the most innovative leader in the technology age.
